About the Interdisciplinary Bioinformatics and Biological Modeling (IBBM) Group

The Interdisciplinary Bioinformatics and Biological Modeling (IBBM) group is part of the larger Life Sciences Interdisciplinary Graduate Recruitment Program aimed at recruiting outstanding students for graduate training. LSIGRP is a broad group of faculty with interests in various aspects of biological research. The IBBM group comprises faculty from Agronomy, Animal Science, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Plant Pathology, and Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences who are collectively interested in bioinformatics and biological modeling. The group provides an interdisciplinary program for graduate training and selects students with strong backgrounds in biology, and statistics, mathematics or computer science. Outstanding opportunities exist to work on collaborative projects involving bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, structural biology, molecular evolution, and biological modeling. Faculty within IBBM also provides an outstanding array of laboratory facilities and computational infrastructure for training.
